Silvermoon Brewing Company

We all went to Silver moon after work for a beer today. There was hope for their Pumpkin ale in my mind but once we got there we found out they had sold out of it the night before. I really wanted to try it because of our recent brew of an Artisian Pumpkin ale. I did try three beer though, which all surprisingly tasted the same. We tried their Amber ale, the Oktoberfest and the HOPpopatamus fresh hop ale. None of these beers will have a seat saved at my dinner table. The HOPpopatamus was nothing special and did not have that much of a fresh hop character, it was in fact a bit sour. The Oktoberfest had a very strong floral aftertaste which ruined the caramel malt character that you yearn for in an Oktoberfest. It actually tasted like an IPA instead of the desired lager one would want, which means that they did not fit the style and deviated too far. The amber ale, tasted just like their IPA, which is not a good thing for an amber ale.
I do hear good things about the music scene here, and according to their line up they have a lot of good shows coming this way.
The service was awesome (we were one of two tables in the restaurant) and she was very helpful in directing towards finding a chest freezer in town.

Overall score,
4 for the beers
6 for the scene
7 for the service
7 for the price

they get 6 cheers from this guy.

10 Barrel Brewing Company

We went to 10 barrel tonight and there was nothing but magic before us , magic pouring from every tap. It was great service, not as long of a wait as was expected (maybe because I had a delicious Revolution Red Ale in my hand) and we got seated with appetizers on our table quicker than a dog begs for food.
I tried the Sinister Black on nitro tonight and it had the same delicious flavor of the original plus a velvety carbonation and lingering chocolate vibe that I really enjoy. They are a staple in my inebriation with their beer in most of the stores around town.
I enjoy 10 barrel because of the down to earth atmosphere. The servers seem to really enjoy their jobs and actually care about what they are serving. Our bar-maiden was not overwhelming and helped us through every decision we made on the menu. Even though we do eat out a-lot we like to explore the menu and get our servers opinion, so I appreciate a refreshing view point on the menu items.
